The Postnatal Recovery Collection

Hello, I'm Amelie

I'm a perinatal yoga specialist, a mum to two growing children, and the sole face behind First to Fourth, which was born at the same time of my first child. It is my own experience of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood and how yoga deeply helped me feel calmer, at ease and confident in my body's amazing abilities at this huge time of transformation that spurred to become a pregnancy & postnatal teacher and support other mums and mums-to-be like you along that rollercoaster ride of a journey!

FAQ

  • When can I start?

The contents of the postnatal recovery workshop are very gentle and therapeutic, and are suitable from 1 week after birth, including after cesarean birth. Practices in the Reconnect series are usually suitable from 6 weeks after birth, or after your postnatal check, and are best explored after doing the workshop. However, please be aware that everybody is different, every birth experience is different and that we all heal at a different pace. Always progress at your own pace. If you are unsure as to the suitability of exercises for your particular situation, please talk to your midwife or GP.

  • I'm past the fourth trimester. Have I left it too late?

It is NEVER too late to start looking after your postpartum body and helping it heal from pregnancy & birth. Some women feel ready to do so in the early weeks after birth, some women don't, or can't, until many months or sometimes years after. Wherever this finds you, the contents of the collection will help you (re)create a very sound basis to support your healing, in a nourishing & empowering way.

  • I've never done yoga. Are the classes suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! The classes don't include any 'yoga jargon' and walk you through essential guidance to make your practice safe, accessible, comfortable and enjoyable!

  • Do I need any special equipment?

No specific equipment is required. You might want to have a yoga mat of course, although you can also safely practice on a rug or carpeted floor, or even in bed for some practices! Other props that might be useful include yoga blocks (that can be replaced with books), a belt (I use a long scarf or bathroom robe belt instead!), and blankets or towels to provide padding.

  • What are the videos like?

All videos in the collection are recordings of classes that I gave live in the past couple of years, from my home. They are of the exact same style, and convey the same information, guidance and practices that you would benefit from my in-person classes. The videos might not look 'glitzy' or hyper-polished in style but the contents are none the lesser in their quality. Very much substance over style!

  • Is this a subscription service?

No, access to the collection is through a one-time payment only, giving you lifetime unlimited access

  • What if I need more support?

If you feel you would benefit from more personalised guidance with your postnatal recovery, I offer one-to-one support sessions by Zoom where we explore in details your situation and needs, and explore practices to support you exactly where you're at. If you would like to discuss this option please do get in touch at [email protected] or you can book a (free) chat straight on my website at www.firsttofourthyoga.co.uk
